The Journey Of Your Life Begins

Are there not enough sites on the Internet devoted to Dante? Why should there be yet another one? The answer to the first question is that there certainly are enough sites, and most of them are full of great content. The great difficulty that I have with many of them is that they are geared toward the "serious scholars", and neglect those of us who are reading The Divine Comedy for personal enjoyment. What I am attempting to do with this site is to create a resource for the reader who wishes to learn a bit more about the symbolism and references found in The Divine Comedy but does not wish to wade through endless pages discussing the meaning of one line of verse. If you wish to do so, there are links to other sites. Compare this site to reading a high school book report rather than a doctoral thesis. This site is an ongoing project, and as such can never be considered complete. I try to upload new material on a monthly basis, depending upon how much work is heaped upon me by my oppressors, er, employers. Please feel free to copy from this site.
